What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday??

Hello again! where did the last week just go??!!

Anyway here is my desk this week, I've been asked to make a couple of Thank You cards, so I'm just putting the finishing touches on those, just need to make a couple of little envelopes and they're ready. My WOYWW badge is still at the back of my desk, I need to find somewhere better to put that. The distress inks are still out, and haven't been touched for a few weeks, they also need a home, infact no they can stay on my desk I just need more time to play! :o). The paper pad I'm using for the cards is one my lovely Mum got me for Xmas. Nothing more to tell really!

I'm off over to Julia's to take a peek at some desks :o) have a lovely day x

I made this card using a lovely Bird House digi stamp from Becky's Place, and also some printable papers that I printed months and months ago as I really liked them but then never got round to using them, so I really wanted to use them up! I really am trying to make an effort to use up some stash! I really like these papers, they have such a lovely spring feel to them.

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday???!!

Here we are at another desk snooping Wednesday! It's come around so fast this week, I haven't had much time for crafting so it's the same project on my desk this week, however I have got a little further with the 2 cards and I have also nearly finished the little gift bag.

Me and Mum took the day off work on Monday and I took her to The Deep in Hull, we had a lovely day and on the way home we called in at Hobbycraft, it's the first time I've been as there isn't one within an hour of where I live so I've never made that 'special trip' out to one, I only bought a few bits and pieces, one of which are the butterfly stamps that you can see in the middle of my desk. I must admit I was a little disappointed with the card making section, but I wonder if some of the other stores have a better selection as I had heard alot of good things, oh well it saved me some money as I really don't actually need anything.

You will also see my WOYWW badge towards the back of my desk, Thanks Julia :o) I will be taking a peek at some desks later, have a great day x

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday???

Hello All! Here we are at another WOYWW!

This week you will see the tags I was experimenting with last week proped up at the back awaiting inspiration to strike me for how to embellish them a little! the distress inks are pushed back out of the way as this week I have made a start on a couple of Easter cards. And I've been good! all of those who expected to see more distress inks again this week were indeed wrong :o) I have refrained.

I only need to make 2 easter cards and the other bunny image will be going on a little bag which I will put some sweet treats in for my Mum. That's it for this week, I will be popping over to Julia's later to take a peek at some desks. Have a lovely day x

Cute Puppy Mother's Day Card for a Godmother

Here's a cute little puppy card, I love this digi stamp, it's one of my favourites! but can't for the life of me remember where I got it so if anyone recognises it please let me know so I can add credit to the designer.

The papers are from the Pampered Pets paper pack, there's some lovely pastel designs in there. I coloured the digi stamp using pro-markers and used glossy accents on their eyes and noses. I've been meaning to make a card with a rosette on for a while as I love them but always seem to forget, I made this one from a strip of patterned paper with ribbon attached to the edge, I added pins and a button to finish it off.

I stamped the sentiment using Versamark and embossed in silver. I love those little paw charms, they're really cute!

My Mum's Mother's Day Card :o) x

Here is the card I have made for my Mum for Mother's Day.

I used Promarkers to colour the super cute LOTV image and also added diamond stickles to her wings and dress. The papers are from First Edition's Sweet Owl paper pad, there are some lovely glittery papers in that pad! I distressed the edges of the patterned papers and curled some corners.

I covered some die cut letters with Glamour Dust for the "Mum" on the front panel, and embossed the Happy Mother's Day sentiment using silver embossing powder. The butterflies and flourishes were cut using Marianne Creatables dies and were coloured using promarkers then covered in diamond stickles and Glamour Dust. This card is super sparkly but you can never get the full effect in photos! Lot's of pearls and other bling added to finish off.

Another Pink and Brown card..... my fave combination :o)

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday

Here we are at another wonderful Wednesday for another WOYWW.

Any viewers from last week may notice that my single Distress Ink to "have a go" with has somehow multiplied into 3, and also 2 new Kaisercraft background stamps have appeared, I honestly have no idea where they have come from :o) the fairies must have brought them! Ok Ok so I've been naughty.... but what was I ever going to acheive with 1 distress ink!!! Anyway I've been playing, the results are on my desk. Haven't tried any water techniques yet, but gone more down the resist route, since I don't have many image stamps or any masks I cut some of my own, I made some stamps using some Marianne Creatables dies by cutting some thin funky foam, and made the heart mask using one of the X-cut nesting hearts, I could definately do with some more stamps but these gave me something to have a play with before I go spending any more money, I really ought to wait 'til after next payday!

Well it's dull and rainy here today, so I'll go and brighten my day by stopping by some lovely desks over at Julia's. Thanks for stopping by, have a great day! x

Vintage Mother's Day Card

I've been wanting to have a "proper go" at a Vintage style card for a while and with Mother's Day fast approaching I decided to try one out. I had a good starting point with a great digi stamp from the Free Vintage Digi Stamps Blog.

At the point I started this card I hadn't ordered my distress inks, these would have probably made the distressing part easier, but I got the desired effect using chalks and a little brown ink and I also distressed the edges of the digi image and the music paper by scraping a craft knife down the edges and curling the corners.

For the flowers I cut varying sized circles from old book pages, scrunched them up, inked the edges and sprayed with my home made glimmer mists. I finished those off with buttons from my stash and added some die cut flourishes. I also used glimmer mist to colour some cream seam binding ribbon as the cream didn't seem to look right.

I stamped the Sentiment using Versamark and embossed using gold embossing powder, I also used gold embossing powder on the charm as I only had silver hearts in my stash!
