Hello all! finally we have some sun here! yay! and I'm Christmas crafting.... seems a bit odd! oh well!
This week finds my desk in continuation to last weeks WOYWW... I have finished covering all of the little advent calendar drawers, I am now trying to decide how to decorate the numbers with a lasting finish, I was wanting a glittery finish but am worried that will all come off! so I'm in the middle of doing a few samples before I go and ruin all the numbers that come with the kit :o) Looks like I'll be testing just about every option, paint, stickles, glitter, embossing powder..... nail polish??!!....
I have been doing a few ATC's too, but have hidden all that stuff away to keep it a surprise for next week :o) Thanks for stopping by, I'm hopping over to Julia's now to take a peek at a few more desks! x

Vintage Style "Bon Voyage" Card
I fancied having a play with my distress inks that I recently bought, I needed to do a "have a nice trip" type card so this is what came together.
I found this fab digi stamp on the free vintage digi stamps blog, I printed it on a laser printer* so I could use the distress inks over the top. I distressed the edges with a distressing tool and mounted on a tag that I had cut from Kraft cardstock. For the backing paper I used Distress Inks again to colour the sheet then over stamped using a script stamp, again I distressed the edges with a distressing tool and curled a corner up.
I added some string, a couple of buttons, flowers and pearls to finish off.
*A tip for anyone who doesn't know, if you would like to use digi stamps with distress inks, print your image using a laser printer and the inks wont smudge it, when you use an inkjet printer the distress inks tend to smudge the image.

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday???
Hello all! Well to say it's May, things are looking pretty Christmassy on my desk??!! The reason for this is I'm working on a Kaisercraft advent calendar, it is going to be a pressie for my Mum's birthday, which isn't until September, but it's quite a big job (as I'm usually a card maker) so I'm doing it in stages. I was inspired to do one after seeing Susan's wonderful creation at the end of November last year. I assembled and painted it in January and it's been packed away again since then! I'm on with covering all the little drawers now. The bronze charms at the left have just arrived, I need to put them away really as my desk is getting pretty full!
Thanks for stopping by, I'm heading over to Julia's now to take a peek at some more desks! Have a good day x

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday??
Hello all! another Wednesday has flown around, it seems to have gone quicker than usual due to the bank holiday! This week finds me in the middle of a card using a LOTV image, and cutting even deeper into my lovely First Edition Summer Breeze paper pad! boo hoo! :o)
Over to the right a rather boring mug of hot water but more importantly a yummy box of Belgian Choccies brought back by my lovely Mum from her recent trip to Belgium. Yummy!
My jars at the back are empty, they are usually full of buttons but the openings of the jars are too small so I've popped all my buttons in one container, much easier for rummaging, just can't part with my jars yet!
Thanks for stopping by, I'm heading over to Julia's for some desk snooping. Have a great Wednesday! x

A Footy Easel Card
My friend asked me to make a card for her Son's 13th Birthday, she asked for a football themed card in Man City colours, so here's what I made....
I coloured digi stamps using promarkers for the football and 2 trophies, I also covered the trophies in glossy accents so they shine and tied little ribbons around their handles. The sentiment was cut from silver card using the Cuttlebug Typewriter die set.
Although you can't tell from the photo, the image, trophies and verse are all mounted with foam pads to give a bit more dimension. The little shirt was cut by hand and mounted using a little hanger that I made from a paperclip!

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday???
Hello fellow WOYWW'ers, this week finds me just finishing a going away card, I found I was able to use Distress Inks over digi stamps if I printed the digi off using a laser printer, I had tried before using my inkjet printer and the DI's just smudged the image, so if you didn't know that, well there's a tip for you :o)
My tray of Prima's is still out after picking a few out. I have also been having a bit of a go at ATC's this week as i have never done them before, but they are hidden away in case I choose to use one for the swap. Thanks for stopping by, I'll be heading over to Julia's later to take a peek at a few desks. Have a lovely day x

A Rosey Pink Birthday Card
Well it's been a while since I had chance to post one of my makes, so here we go!
My Mum asked me to make a special card for her Aunty's 80th Birthday and this is what I came up with. I went with a flowery spring theme to brighten our recenty rainy days! I added a big bow with pearl pins for a touch of luxury and added pearls, gems and a charm to bling it up a bit.

Whats on Your Workdesk Wednesday
Hello all, well I missed last week's WOYWW as I had the dreaded flu bug :o( however I'm back this week and feeling much better! I haven't done alot of crafting while I was unwell, but I'm back into things now, I've nearly finished the "roller skating" themed card that I started for an order some time ago, it just needs a few pearls etc to finish it off.
You will also see, proped up at the back, I've had another go at a sunset using distress inks and a lovely new dandelion stamp. I'm really pleased with the results, just need to get round to using it on a card!
Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to take a look at some desks over at Julia's. Have a great day x

What's Your Workdesk Wednesday???
Ok.... I'm sure it was only Wednesday yesterday... how can it be Wednesday again today??!! The long Easter weekend is now behind us :o( I had a lovely weekend, but it went way too fast even though I had an extra couple of days off.
This week you will see the stamps that I was awaiting last week have arrived! Yay! and I finished off my first attempt at a sunset silhouette image, I'm much happier with it now, I still think with a bit of practice they will look better but I am happy with it and will use it on a card. There is also the beginnings of a card, I have been asked of a Roller Boot themed card, so that's a bit of a challenge.... and the pink ribbon... well that looks like a challenge too :o) The brown paper bag has some new ribbon in which I picked up whilst shopping with my Mum over the weekend, a market stall has bundles of 3m ribbon for 50p so I always get a few as I'm not in town very often :o)
That's it from me, I'll be heading over to Julia's to take a sneaky peak at some more desks, thanks for stopping by, have a lovely day x

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday??
Round to another Wednesday and 4 days off work for Easter is on the horizon :o) Yay!!
Ok... so maybe this week there are a few more Distress Inks on my desk... hmm just 3 didn't last long did it! I wanted to have a go at some sunset scene's so I ordered some inks and silhouette stamps, although my stamps haven't arrived yet so I've just been having a play with the inks, this is my first attempt, I'm not 100% happy with it but I think once it has some stamps over the top and trimmed down a bit it will look ok. But I'm happy for my first go, just hope my stamps arrive soon!

And look what was on my desk at the end of last week :o) my wonderful candy from fellow WOYWWer Sarah, thanks so much, just got to get my thinking cap on and get using them!
That's it for this week, I'm off over to Julia's to take a look at some more desks. Have a great day. x
